The X-Ray Properties of the Dwarf Nova V893 Scorpii
Abstract
V893 Sco is an eclipsing dwarf nova that had attracted littleattention from X-ray astronomers until it was proposed as the identification of an RXTE all-sky slew survey (XSS) source. Here we report on the first ever pointed X-ray observation of this object using Suzaku. We confirm V893 Sco to be an X-ray bright dwarf nova, although the flux we measure is 30 than the XSS flux. We then consider the reliability of the X-ray luminosity function of dwarf novae inferred from the XSS. Finally, we analyze the X-ray light curve of V893 Sco and show that it has a partial X-ray eclipse.
